My friend from 20 years ago has twin nieces who suffered from shaken baby syndrome by the hand of their father. One of the twins suffers with slower motor skills and now has been told she is blind in one eye and in a year will be blind in both.

I don't know what everyone’s beliefs are but I am asking everyone to please pray for this child, her sister and my friend who is dealing with fear sadness and anger all at the same time... I just know there is something special about these girls and they have a calling because evil has tried to strike them down right from birth. It WILL NOT succeed and it will not weaken my friends’ faith. Help them with your prayers.

I will pass along any words of encouragement you have to lift up the family.

Our children's church is going to pray for her niece and her eye sight and I had an idea about taking this princess pirate thing to the next level. I want to get our children's church kids to take a picture of them all wearing eye patches with a sign saying "hi to ------ and ------ of the princess pirate club..." then I thought we need a real picture of a princess pirate and then I thought "I bet Yohnnilee could do that." So would ya, would ya?? With your creative mind and talent draw a picture that would delight the heart of a child? So what do ya say?

As if I could say "No" to that! Not only have I been waiting for an excuse to draw a pirate, I've also been awaiting the opportunity to actually do good with the gift that God (or whichever name you prefer to call Him/Her) bestowed upon me!

There is no real time frame, but I'd like to get started just the same as a good picture takes about a week to draw if not longer depending on my schedule and my son and my wariness...

She wants it maybe for a poster, so this is where my friends come in!!! Can a place take a--- say, 8X10 picture and increase it to a--- say 24" by whatever poster size and it still look good (like it should)? If so, please let us know of some places it can be done!!! ALSO, from my other artistic friends- Suggestions (how to combine a pirate and a princess without it looking corny or silly; i.e. clothes, hair, decorations, crown? Hat? Any suggestions are welcome!!!) of ANY kind for this project would be extremely helpful!!! Remember it is for a little girl, but she wants it also to be generic enough that it can be used for other things as well! Think "super hero" "role model" and so on... (And of course I could use some ideas on fancy eye patches also! I was thinking something like my Venus vs. Virus pic in my Gift Art folder as far as the eye patch is concerned)
